Hitler's American Business Friends - US Corporations Made Earnings on the War is a 45-minute documentary by the authors Joachim Schroeder and Dieter Schröder from 2003. It deals with the cooperation of US-American companies with German companies and the German government during the Third Reich .

content

The film deals with the role of US corporations such as GM , Ford , IBM and Standard Oil in the German armaments industry before and during the Second World War . The authors describe how the German subsidiaries of these companies Opel , Ford Werke AG and DEHOMAG were integrated into the war preparations of the Third Reich. According to this, Opel and Ford produced the majority of the three-ton tracked vehicles and medium-sized trucks of the Wehrmacht , also with the help of forced laborers and concentration camp prisoners. Vehicles without which the so-called Blitzkrieg would not have been possible. Standard Oil supplied crude oil and other special products that were necessary for the operation of the tanks and the air force during the first years of the war.

Apparently there were also good personal contacts between US industrialists and the German Reich. Henry Ford and Tom Watson , the then head of IBM, were even awarded the Order of Merit by the German Eagle for their services to the Third Reich.
