The St. Dreikönigskirche is an Evangelical Lutheran parish church in Haselau in the Pinneberg district . It belongs to the Hamburg-West / Südholstein parish in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Northern Germany .

history

A document from 1251 proves that a Haselau parish existed at that time . There was probably a wooden church that stood on a worm . The oldest parts of today's stone church date from the 14th century. During the Reformation , the church was attacked, robbed and partially destroyed by Lübschen warriors in 1543. The reconstruction was carried out from 1572 by Ollegard von Ahlefeldt . From 1641 onwards, the interior of the church was perfected through donations and donations. The pulpit , altar and ceiling paintings date from that time .

Church building

The core of the church is Gothic (14th century). The rectangular, somewhat recessed choir adjoins the hall-like nave in the east . In the north wall there is an old Gothic door ledge with the inscription "help got / caspar melchior baltazar" depicted in Gothic minuscule . The name Heilig-Dreikönigs- Church, which has existed since 1960, goes back to this.

The building underwent major changes between 1858 and 1866 by Hermann Georg Krüger . The south wall was redesigned. Large windows were added and the southern vestibule was created. The nave was given a raised wooden barrel, the choir a wooden ceiling.

Bell tower and bells

The 42 m high wooden bell tower was also built by Krüger in 1866 on a brick base. A smaller predecessor was destroyed by lightning in 1862. There are seven bells in the tower. One of them, the hour bell, is the oldest bell in the Pinneberg district. It probably dates from the 13th century, from the time when the Haseldorfer Marsch were settled. It is known as the sugar loaf bell because of its slim shape .

Furnishing

The altar with a two-storey baroque structure from the 17th century is the work of the Hamburg sculptor Christian Precht . In addition to the altar structure, the five figures and the winding columns come from his workshop.

The forerunner of the Haselau baroque altar was a three-winged late Gothic carved altar with the Haselau protective mantle Madonna, which is important in art history. The altar, possibly by Tilman Riemenschneider or from his environment, was sold after the Reformation. His groups of figures are still preserved and are now in the Schleswig-Holstein State Museum Schloss Gottorf in Schleswig.

The ceiling painting above the chancel was created by Hinrich Stuhr in 1685. It represents the vision of John. God the Father sits on a throne over fire and water. He has the book with seven seals on his lap. The 24 elders can be seen around him. The lamb in the foreground is a symbol of Jesus Christ. The two central pictures of the altar were also painted by Stuhr.

The carved wood pulpit was donated in 1644 by Haselau estate inspector Philipp Hagedorn. It shows the four evangelists and Christ with the globe in hand in five niches . On the six-sided sound cover , Christ is once again enthroned as the risen one.

organ

The organ is more recent. It was inaugurated in 2002 and comes from the workshop of G. Christian Lobback in Neuendeich. The Schleifwindladen instrument has 22 (twenty sounding) registers (1254 pipes) on two manuals and pedal. The playing and stop actions are mechanical.
