Hlane

Hlane is a former Inkhundla (administrative unit) in Swaziland . The name Hlane is Siswati and means something like wilderness. Hlane is mostly part of the Hlane Royal National Park . It was 458 km². The administrative unit was abolished in 2018 and merged with Dvokodvweni .

geography

The Inkhundla lay in the center of the Lubombo region to the east. The rivers Msulutane and Mkumbana form the river plains in which the area lies, while the Lebombo Mountains join to the east . The Hlane Royal National Park forms the Lubombo Transfrontier Conservation Area with the Simunye Nature Reserve and other protected areas . The MR 3 is the main traffic artery in the region.

The earlier Inkhundla was divided into the Imiphakatsi (chief districts) Hlane, Khuphuka, Ntandweni and Sikhuphe.
