The (also: das) Hoadl (formerly also Haidl Berg ) is 2340  m above sea level. A. high mountain southwest of Innsbruck in Tyrol .

Location and surroundings

The Hoadl forms the north-western end of the Kalkkögel . The 2327  m high Widdersberg joins in the southeast . The Axamer Lizum ski area extends on the eastern flanks , making the Hoadl accessible by a funicular and a chair lift. To the north of the summit, below the secondary summit Pleisen ( 2236  m ), lie the villages of Birgitz , Axams , Grinzens and Sellrain above the Inn Valley .

Ascent

The ascent to the flat summit is done either from the Birgitzköpflhaus (via Halsl , Widdersbergsattel , Hoadlsattel ), by direct ascent from the Axamer Lizum or via the Pleisen. In winter, the mountain is a popular destination for ski tourers, it can be reached from Grinzens in four hours and from Axamer Lizum as a piste tour in two hours.
