The Hochtennspitze is a 2549 m high mountain in the Stubai Alps in the Austrian state of Tyrol .
Location and surroundings
The Hochtennspitze is located in the Kalkkögeln in the Stubai Valley , southwest of Innsbruck . The neighboring summit is the stone pit wall with the Schlicker Zinnen (2578 m) in the southwest and the Malgrubenspitze (2571 m) in the east .
Ascent
There are two ways to climb the mountain. The ascent from the south-east leads from the southern flanks of the Malgrubenspitze up to the summit. The second path starts steeply from the Hoadlsattel in a north-westerly direction and reaches the summit cross via a small notch in a few minutes. In winter, the mountain above the Schlick is a popular destination for ski tourers.
