It belongs to the district of Bergener Forst , municipality of Bergen , district of Traunstein , a few meters before the municipality boundary to Ruhpolding (in which former forest district of Ruhpolding ). Together with the Hochfellnhaus, the Tabor chapel was built on the summit of the Hochfelln in 1890 . The Hochfellnhaus has had its own material ropeway since 1951 . In 1970 a larger guest room was added. This was necessary because since that time Hochfellnhaus cable car rides to the Hochfelln. Since then, it has not been possible to stay overnight.

The drinking water is brought to the summit by cable car and pumped into the main filter via a pre-filter. After the main filter, a certified UV system disinfects the water. The energy supply is provided by a diesel block-type thermal power station , the waste heat of which is used for heating. The wastewater is cleaned with a small floating body fluidized bed sewage treatment plant.

history

The Hochfellnhaus was founded by the Hochfellnhausverein under the direction of Pastor Otto von Mayer. First, halfway through the ascent, the club acquired the Stockreiter Kaser from a Ruhpolding farmer (now known as the Bründlingalm and still belongs to the Hochfellnhaus). Then a contract was signed with the forestry office for the construction of the church and the lodging house. The long lease agreement was concluded for 99 years. The construction itself was very difficult. The building material was carried up from the valley with girders, the stones were broken from the limestone at the summit. The sand pit in the south of the summit still bears witness to this today. In the first years the Hochfellnhaus was run by different tenants. There were difficulties e.g. B. because of poaching of the tenants or their lack of payment behavior .

In 1919 the Hochfellnhaus was rented to the owner of the Grabenstätter Gasthaus zur Post , Mr. Schweizer. In 1920/1921 the Hochfellnhausverein got into financial difficulties and had to sell the two restaurants (Hochfellnhaus and Bründlingalm) and the chapel. The purchase price was over 60,000 marks . Since then, the Hochfellnhaus has been owned by the Schweizer / Maier family. Three years later, the purchase price was only worth three bottles of beer. The chapel was the Catholic Church a few years later by a donation via suitable. The grazing rights on the Bründlingalm were transferred to the forestry office in 1969 as an additional consideration for the purchase price of the land. In 2009 the material web of the Hochfellnhaus was destroyed by an avalanche. The reconstruction cost 152,000 euros. After collecting donations from the friends of the Hochfelln, which raised more than 65,000 euros, the repair could be carried out.
