life and career

Vacherot reached the men's singles final seven times at the French tennis championships . In 1894 and 1896 he defeated Gérard Brosselin , in 1895 Laurent Riboulet and in 1901 Paul Lebreton . In 1903 and 1904 he lost the final against Max Décugis and in 1905 against Maurice Germot . All of his final opponents were French.

André Vacherot was able to claim the “Championnat de France” in men's doubles twice; first in 1895 when the French duo Paul Lebreton - Paul Lecaron were beaten 2-0 (6: 2, 6: 1) together with the German tennis player Christian Winzer , then in 1901 when he was able to win the championship title again with his younger brother Marcel .

His brother Marcel won the men's singles tournament in 1902 6: 4 and 6: 2 against Max Décugis.
