The Hochthürmerberg (e.g. also called Hochthürmchen , Hochthürmen or Hochthürmer ) is 499.9  m above sea level. NHN high mountain of the Eifel in the district of Euskirchen in North Rhine-Westphalia near the border with Rhineland-Palatinate ( Germany ).

Geographical location

The Hochthürmerberg rises within the Ahr Mountains (Ahreifel) south of the village of Houverath (Euskirchen district, North Rhine-Westphalia) or northeast of the village of Kirchsahr ( Ahrweiler district , Rhineland-Palatinate). The border between the two federal states runs roughly along the 440 m height line over the southern mountain flanks. A neighboring mountain of the Hochthürmerberg is the Hasenberg .

Mountain peaks and viewpoints

There are remains of a ring wall on the summit plateau . The summit is wooded and therefore offers no view. From the section of the Ahr-Venn-Weg, which is located between Kirchsahr and Krälingen , you have a view of the Hohe Acht , Michelsberg , Nürburg and even the Scharteberg and Döhmberg . At Krälingen you have a beautiful view of the Middle and Lower Ahr , where the Krausberg and the Neuenahrer Berg stand out, as well as the neighboring Hasenberg.
