Hofkirchen is a district of the municipality of Laberweinting and Pfarrdorf in the Lower Bavarian district of Straubing-Bogen .

Hofkirchen is about three kilometers south of Laberweinting on the Bayerbacher Bach and five kilometers east of Mallersdorf .

history

In 1145 a document from Pope Eugene III proves that the possessions of the Regensburg Bishopric put the possessions in "Hovenchirchen" under his protection. In 1890 Hofkirchen had 171 inhabitants, in 1910 there were 175. Until the regional reform, Hofkirchen was an independent municipality in the Mallersdorf district, which was dissolved in 1972 . On May 1, 1978 Hofkirchen was incorporated into Laberweinting in the Straubing-Bogen district.

  • Theodor Ebner (born September 26, 1916 in Oberholzen; † December 31, 2009 in Hofkirchen) was the main teacher and organist in Hofkirchen.
  • Konrad Stadler (born July 23, 1929 in Hofkirchen; † May 31, 2013 in Hofkirchen) was a wood cutter, sacristan and church caretaker. For 60 years of voluntary work he was awarded the Badge of Honor of the municipality of Laberweinting in 2001.
