Hohenwart is a part of the municipality of Fuchstal in the Upper Bavarian district of Landsberg am Lech .
geography
The hamlet is located about three kilometers east of Asch on a gravel terrace of the Lech directly on federal highway 17 .
history
Hohenwart is mentioned for the first time in 1628, the name probably comes from a watchtower located there.
The hamlet belonged to the Augsburg bishopric until 1785 , then to Kurbayern . The lower jurisdiction initially lay with the Leeder nursing office, later with the Steingaden monastery .
In 1752 a free tavern is mentioned.
