The Holzwiese-Bockmerholz is a former nature reserve in the Lower Saxony town of Sehnde in the Hanover region .
The former nature reserve with the registration number NSG HA 064 is 49 hectares in size. It is part of the FFH area "Bockmerholz, Gaim". The area has been under nature protection since June 30, 1983. On January 11, 2019, the new nature reserve " Bockmerholz, Gaim " opened. The responsible lower nature conservation authority was the Hanover region.
The area is located southeast of Hanover and west of Sehnde on the edge of the Bockmerholz . It is characterized by damp to wet oak-hornbeam forests with transitions to beech forests with a high proportion of old wood .
In the former nature reserve there is an area with a gley floor with a fen layer that is surrounded by the wooded areas. This area is characterized by a nutrient-poor wet meadow , parts are also covered with large sedge. The meadow is tended by regular mowing . The area drains via ditches to the Wietzengraben, which flows over the Lahrer Graben to the Wietze .
