The HomePlug Powerline Alliance (short: HomePlug Alliance ) is an American umbrella organization , which for the development and standardization of Powerline Communication - technology looks responsible (PLC). The members of the alliance are companies from all parts of the value chain - from research and development to service and content. In addition to in-house PLC solutions, the alliance is also dedicated to the narrowband sector.
The association was launched in March 2000 and the first HomePlug 1.0 specification was passed in June 2001.
structure
The HomePlug Alliance consists of 56 members who are divided into three groups - "sponsors" ( sponsor ), "partner" ( Participants ) and "User" ( adopters ):
- The “sponsors” are the driving forces in the Alliance and make up the Board of Directors . These include Broadcom Corporation , Cisco Systems , Duke Energy , MStar Semiconductor and Qualcomm Atheros .
- The “partners” are associated members who work on the powerline specifications and in marketing development. This is done through participation in and contributions to working groups . These include a. D-Link , devolo , Landis + Gyr , Marvell Technology Group , Orange , Renesas Electronics , Sony Germany , Southern California Edison , State Grid Electric Power Research Institute and Texas Instruments . There are also sponsors and applying members.
- The "users" are associated members who want to use HomePlug Powerline technology in their products and services . These include Asoka USA Corporation , Aztech , Belkin International , Bigben Interactive , BMW Technology Corporation , Buffalo , China Academy of Telecommunication Research , EchoStar Technologies , Électricité de France , Guillemot Corporation , Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Institute , I2SE , Linksys , Logitech Europe , Motorola Mobility , Netgear , Shenzhen GEEYA Technology , TP-Link Technologies , Western Digital Technologies , Wistron NeWeb Corporation and ZyXEL .
