history

In 1879 Heinrich Honold founded the company as the Royal Bavarian Rolling Company in Ulm. During the Second World War , Honold was responsible for sending the Kinderland and supplying the population with food in the Neu-Ulm / Ulm region by transporting goods from the train station. After the war, the Honold Spedition helped supply the city of Neu-Ulm with timber. For this purpose trucks of the American occupation troops were obtained.

In the 1960s, the car forwarding company was set up with weekly lines to German destinations. In 1976, Honold founded the German Parcel Service together with other forwarding companies . Other collaborations were also established in the textile sector with Deutsche Textil Logistik (DTL) and in the food sector with the Pinguin cooperation.

In the 1990s, the German Parcel Service (DPD; today Dynamic Parcel Distribution ) was expanded in the Czech Republic as one of the first parcel services in Europe ( Ústí , Prague , Brno , Olmouc, Ostrava , Hradec ) and in Switzerland ( Bellinzona , Bad Ragaz , Schaffhausen , Zurich ) and in the new federal states ( Cottbus and Dresden ).
