Howard Cann
Howard Cann ( Howard Goodsell Cann; born October 11, 1895 in Bridgeport , Connecticut , † December 18, 1992 in Dobbs Ferry ) was an American shot putter and basketball coach .
At the Olympic Games in Antwerp in 1920 he was eighth in the shot put with 13,520 m.
Starting for New York University , he became IC4A champion in 1920 with his personal best of 13.97 m .
In 1920 he was with the team of New York University basketball champions of the Amateur Athletic Union , which he coached from 1923 to 1958. In 1968 he was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame as a coach .
