The Hradišťany (German Radelstein , 752 m) is a prominent mountain in the Bohemian Central Mountains ( České středohoří ) in the Czech Republic . On the Hradišťany there is a Bronze Age fort, of which remains have been preserved. The Hradišťanská louka nature reserve has existed in the summit area since 1952 .
Origin of the name
The name of the mountain is derived from the Czech name hradiště ( castle site ). The German name Radelstein is derived from it.
Location and surroundings
The Hradišťany is located about ten kilometers southeast of Bílina ( Bilin ) and 15 kilometers west of Lovosice ( Lobositz ) in the Bohemian Central Mountains on the left Elbe. At the foot of the mountain are the small towns of Štěpánov ( Stepanow ), Mukov ( Mukow ) and Dřevce ( Drzewze ). Two kilometers to the south - still part of the Hradišťany massif - rises the Ostrý mountain . The ridge connecting the two mountains is called Kozí hřbet ( goat back ).
A special feature in the summit area of Hradišťany is the flat, several hectare Radelsteinwiese , which is surrounded by a two-meter-high ring wall made of basalt stones.
natural reserve
Since 1952, the Radelsteinwiese has been under state protection on 3.93 hectares as a nature reserve Hradišťanská louka because of its floristic features. For the Radelsteinwiese typical protected plants are u. a. Fragrant cowslip ( Primula veris ), whorleaf white root ( Polygonatum verticillatum ) and orange-red hawkweed ( Hieracium aurantiacum ). In the past, the Radelsteinwiese was also known for its rich stock of orchids .
view
From the summit there is only a limited view to the north towards the Ore Mountains due to the high forest .
Paths to the summit
A red marked hiking route leads over the Hradišťany, which starts in Kostomlaty pod Milešovkou ( cost sheet ) and continues to Třebívlice . The summit can be reached via a marked junction. The small towns of Štěpánov and Červený Újezd ( Rotaujesd ) are also good starting points for a visit to the mountain .
