The Huáscar is a product tanker built in 1992 that today sails under the Panamanian flag.

Construction and technical data

The ship was built in 1992 at the shipyard of Shin Kurushima in Imabari ( Japan built) and under the name Captain Ann from the Pacific make Wallem Group put into service and Wallis and Futuna registered.

A diesel engine allows a speed of 14  knots via a propeller .

fate

The International Maritime Organization (IMO) reported in April 2000 of an unsuccessful pirate attack on the ship. One night on March 22, 2000, five armed pirates approached the stern of the ship anchored near Dar es Salaam in a rubber dinghy , but fled when they were illuminated with the searchlight .

The ship was sold to Petrolera Transoceánica in Lima ( Peru ) on August 1, 2003 , renamed Huascarán and registered in Panama . On November 1, 2010 the registration was placed in Peru, the home port was Callao in Peru. The ship was last called Huáscar and was registered in Panama again.
