Hubert Patthey (born November 19, 1919 in Neuchâtel ; † November 30, 2009 ) was a Swiss racing driver , entrepreneur and automobile official.

Entrepreneur and functionary

Hubert Patthey imported French and British sports cars into Switzerland after the end of World War II . In his workshop in Neuchâtel, he sold vehicles from Alpine , AC Cars , Alvis Cars , HRG and Aston Martin for years . For many years he was a functionary of the Swiss Automobile Club ; from 1974 to 1986 he was President of the ACS branch in Neuchâtel.

Patthey had a private pilot's license , was married and the father of two daughters and one son.

Career in motorsport

1946 Hubert Patthey began hillclimb to drive and changed a few years later to the racetrack. He competed in national sports car races - in 1947 he won a sports car race in Lausanne in an MG TC - and competed twice in the 24-hour Le Mans race. 1958 he reached with partner Georges Berger on a plant - AC Ace-LM to ninth overall, in 1959 it fell by an engine failure at the Aston Martin DB4 GT from early.
