The Huerteales are a plant order of the flowering plants (Magnoliopsida).

The families of this order are linked by relatively few common derived characteristics . The relationship between the four families was only revealed through molecular genetic studies.

They are woody plants: mostly trees . The leaf margins are serrated. Stipules are often present.

The flowers are often arranged in zymose inflorescences . The flowers are small. The flower cup (hypanthium) is short. There is only one stamen circle ; the inner one is missing. Two carpels have become an ovary grown.
