Hugo Fischer (technologist)

Hugo Friedrich Robert Fischer (born May 26, 1846 in Dresden ; † February 23, 1938 there ) was a German technologist , mechanical engineer and university professor .

Life

Hugo Fischer devoted himself to the put-away Abitur a mechanical engineering degree at the Polytechnic Dresden , which he with the promotion of Dr.-Ing. completed. After working in the private sector, Fischer took up an assistant position for mechanical technology and theoretical mechanical engineering at the Dresden Polytechnic in 1874. In the same year he was given the position of secretary of the royal Saxon technical deputation. Fischer, who later became deputy director there, resigned from his office in 1905.

Hugo Fischer completed his habilitation in 1877 as a private lecturer in mechanical technology at the Dresden Polytechnic, where he was promoted to extraordinary professor in 1879 and full professor of mechanical engineering and mechanical technology in 1890. In 1891 Fischer was entrusted with the management of the collection of templates for technical drawing, in the academic year 1895/96 he headed the mechanical-technical department of the university, which had meanwhile been renamed the Dresden University of Technology, and in 1913 he retired . Hugo Fischer, who was appointed Privy Councilor , died on February 23, 1938, three months before he would have turned 92 in Dresden.
