Hugo Hildebrandt (gynecologist)

Hugo Alfred Otto Hildebrandt (born October 6, 1833 in Königsberg i. Pr. , † July 3, 1882 ibid) was a German gynecologist and university professor .

Life

Hildebrandt studied medicine at the Albertus University in Königsberg . After graduating in 1857, he joined the obstetric clinic as an assistant doctor . Since 1862 for Gynecology and Obstetrics habilitation , he led by Albert Hayns death in October 1863, the clinic for a year on an interim basis and after departure of the now appointed Otto Spiegelberg from 1865 continuously as a professor . In 1876/77 he was Vice Rector of the Albertina. At the end of 1879, Hildebrandt fell ill with a nervous disorder. Three years later he died of a stroke at the age of 49 .
