Dog horn

The Hundshorn ( Bernese Oberland and : Dog Shore ) is a mountain at the top in Kiental in the Bernese Oberland .

location

The Hundshorn forms a group of three with the Zahm Andrist and the Wild Andrist , the highest and southernmost peaks of which it is. In the south, the Sefinenfurgge forms the border with the Bütlasse and Gspaltenhorn massifs and also the border with the actual Bernese Alps , while the Hundshorn is still part of the Bernese Pre-Alps . In the east lies the Sefinental , a side valley of the Lauterbrunnen valley . In the northeast, a transition called "Rote Härd" separates the Hundshorn from the Chilchflue and Schilthorn massifs . The group of three (with Zahm and Wild Andrist) is bordered by the Spiggengrund in the north and by the upper Kiental with the Griesalp in the west.

The mountain lies on the border of the municipalities Lauterbrunnen in the east and Reichenbach in the west.

summit

There is a triangulation point on the summit of the Hundshorn . It can be reached via the northern slope or the northeast ridge in a demanding mountain hike through pathless terrain.
