Huntington is a city in Baker County in the US state of Oregon .

Huntington is located in the southeast of Baker County on the Burnt River just before its confluence with the Snake River , about 70 kilometers southeast of the County Seat Baker City , at an altitude of 646 meters. Interstate 84 runs west of the city and US Highway 30 runs through the city .
The city has an area of 1.94 km², excluding land.
history
Huntington was on the Oregon Trail , the historic route for settlers from the east to Oregon. Here they left the Snake River to go through the Blue Mountains to the Columbia River . In 1862 the first settler settled here, who set up a carriage station in 1870. In 1882 the Huntington brothers, after whom the town is named, bought the land and parceled it out. In 1884 the railroad reached Huntington.
Demographics
According to the 2010 United States Census , Huntington's population was 440, including 228 men and 212 women. 81 residents were under 20 years old, 135 were 65 or older.
