Hvarf-Heim (isl. Hvarf = " disappearance " / "refuge" and heim = "home") is a compilation album by the Icelandic music group Sigur Rós from 2007, which was released to accompany the film Heima .

background

Hvarf-Heim is a double album consisting of Hvarf , which includes a compilation of studio recordings of well-known and previously unreleased titles, and Heim , which is a compilation of live acoustic recordings. Both works are seen as independent but complementary albums, hence the double title.

The album was released worldwide on November 5, 2007 and a day later in North America as a double CD. The only single, Hljómalind, was on sale a week earlier on October 29th. On May 8, 2009, Hvarf-Heim was re-released in Germany as a Standard Edition , the content of which only combines the two albums on a single instead of two sound carriers.
