Hyazinth Wäckerle , pseudonym of Joseph Fischer , (born May 16, 1836 in Ziemetshausen , † February 2, 1896 in Lauingen ) was a German pedagogue and dialect poet .

Life

Fischer was the son of the poor family Fischer. The father was a messenger from Augsburg, his mother the farmer's daughter Viktoria from Fischach . Joseph attended the Ziemetshausen elementary school from 1842 to 1848. The single mother (the father had died in 1843) recognized her son's talents and made it possible for him to train as a teacher. In 1849 Fischer went to Schwabmünchen to prepare for teaching at the preparatory school , then in 1853 (after passing the certificate) began a two-year seminar training at the royal school teacher seminar in Lauingen, the teacher training center founded in Dillingen in 1824 was relocated to Lauingen in 1841.

In 1855 he got his first job as a school assistant in the village of Waltenhofen near Kempten, where he worked as an organist and lead singer in addition to school lessons . Due to his extraordinary abilities, he was transferred back to the seminar in Lauingen as a "second assistant teacher" by the Augsburg school authorities in 1858 . In 1865 he took over the position of choir regent and teacher in Kaufbeuren ; he also worked as the choir director of the Kaufbeuren lieder wreath. There he married Anna Philomena Schmid, the daughter of the rose landlord, in 1868. Of the three children, only their daughter Barbara survived infancy.

King Ludwig II arranged that the former assistant teacher at the Lauinger Anstalt was given the main teaching post for German language there in 1872 - in addition to shorthand , music theory and community writing. The son Raimund was born there.

After the death of his wife in 1889, Fischer stopped all writing. He died of a heart condition in Lauingen in 1896. In Lauingen and in Ziemetshausen, one elementary school is named after Hyazinth Wäckerle.

Act

Most of Joseph Fischer's estate was destroyed at the end of the Second World War. The data on life and work are scattered in archives. On the occasion of the commemoration day for his 100th birthday in 1996, a detailed biography of the author appeared with the work of Werner Sacher , in which his professional teaching activity was described in the mirror of the times and a selection from the most important publications of the educational writer on teaching and education was presented.

Fischer's dialect poems were published under this pseudonym. He wrote his first poems during his training.

Quintus Fixlein II.

Under the pseudonym Quintus Fixlein II , alluding to Jean Paul , who was admired by Fischer , he published his two main writings. In Thorough Reflections on Schools and Teachers, Upbringing and Teaching , Fischer takes a position on all possible questions and positions relating to the school and educational system, on general intellectual-historical matters such as the Enlightenment, the world views of liberalism and socialism, on the school as an institution and its social interrelations (Family, parental home, military, job), on different types of schools and their teaching or training focuses, on the school supervision and teacher training, on the practical life of the teacher and his relationship with the pupil, on the biological and psychological-spiritual requirements of the pupils and the Teaching method, on individual subject areas as well as educational history and general school policy topics. In his second work, On the Phraseology of Elementary School Pedagogy, the pedagogue takes a critical look at the prevailing views and idioms about schools and teachers or the class of teachers.
