Hypericum trichocaulon is a perennial stem therophyte that reaches heights of 5 to 25 centimeters. The stems are prostrate, but do not form any pads. The leaves are 5 to 14 millimeters long and smooth. The flowers are five-fold. The seeds are longitudinally ribbed.

The flowering period extends from May to July.

Occurrence

Hypericum Trichocaulon is on Crete in the regional districts of Chania , Rethymno and Heraklion endemic . The species grows on hedgehog cushion heaths, rock heads and in dry sinkholes in the Lefka Ori and in Psiloritis at altitudes of (0) 350 to 1940 meters.
