I-Fire is a reggae band from Hamburg, founded in 2004 . It consists of nine musicians.

history

The two singers Robert “Raw” Schlepper and Fritz “Free” Kschowak were already producing German-language dancehall in a studio in Hamburg-Bergedorf before I-Fire in the early 2000s under the name “Raw-N-Free” . When the two singers and trombonist friend Nils Nöhden met the guitarist Marcus Arnold in 2004 while recording in a Hamburg school for sound engineering, the idea of ​​a reggae band came up. Together with drummer Andreas Feldmann, keyboarder Valentin Heinrich and bassist Anton Soetrisno they found I-Fire. Over time, singer Nils “Dub-Ill-You” Wieczorek and trumpeter Niklas Ulrich join them.

In 2007 the Hamburg-based company founded their own label I-Fire Empire, on which all of the following releases appear.

In March 2008 they released their debut album Vom Schatten ins Licht. In September the single vacation at home . The distribution assumes Rough Trade .

In April 2010 the second album Bigger, Better, Hotter will be released.

Since 2012, I-Fire have been organizing the FIREabend, an annual year-end concert in Hamburg. In addition to the own show, several supporting bands and musical guests are an integral part of the concert.

In October 2013 the album Highgrade Propaganda from “Raw-N-Free” will be released as a side project .

In 2014 the single Between Spring and Autumn and the third album Salut! out.

In 2015 and 2016 bassist Anton Soetrisno, keyboardist Valentin Heinrich, trombonist Nils Nöhden and trumpeter Niklas Ulrich left the band, in exchange for bassist Julian Bohne, trumpeter Marcus Hector and the two keyboardists Maui von Lommatzsch and Sebastian Stank.

In 2017 the single Pyaka was released , in 2018 the single 38 Grad . The single Einfach so will be released in 2019 .

A new album has been announced for spring 2020.

In addition to concerts in various clubs in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, the band regularly appears at various festivals, including Fusion (2009) and Dockville (2009) also at the two largest reggae festivals in Germany, Summerjam (2009, 2011 and 2019) and the Chiemsee Summer (2007, 2009, 2012, 2014, 2016).
