ICC World Twenty20 2007
The ICC World Twenty20 2007 was the first World Cup tournament to be held in Twenty20 cricket and ran from September 11th to 24th, 2007 in South Africa .
The Indian team under their captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni won the tournament by beating Pakistan in the final . Indian bowler Irfan Pathan has been named player of the game . The player of the tournament became the Pakistani all-rounder Shahid Afridi.
The ten test cricket nations were automatically qualified, plus Kenya and Scotland , who had secured participation by reaching the finals in the ICC World Cricket League Division One in early 2007. The top two in each group qualified for the next round, the so-called Super 8 .
