ICC T20 World Cup Qualifier 2019
The ICC T20 World Cup Qualifier 2019 was the qualifying tournament for the ICC T20 World Cup 2020 , the world championship in Twenty20 cricket and took place between October 18 and November 2, 2019 in the United Arab Emirates . A total of six teams qualified for the World Cup. In the group stage, Papua New Guinea and Ireland qualified directly. The Netherlands , Namibia , Scotland and Oman subsequently qualified for the finals. In the final, the Netherlands won the tournament against Papua New Guinea with 7 wickets.
Attendees
A total of 14 teams take part in the tournament. Six teams qualified for this qualifying tournament via the ICC T20I Championship on January 1, 2019, while ten teams qualified directly for the World Cup.
In addition, there is the host of the qualifying tournament.
Seven other teams qualify through a system of 17 regional qualifying tournaments .

After Zimbabwe was suspended by the world association due to political influence on the association, Nigeria was nominated as a replacement.

format
The fourteen teams were divided into two groups of seven teams each. In these, each team plays against each other. The first two in the group qualify directly for the semi-finals and thus for the final tournament. The group runners-up and thirds play in the quarter-finals for the semi-finals and qualification for the final tournament. The losing teams compete against the fourth in the group in the semi-finals of the lower qualification path. Its winners contest the game for 5th place and also qualify for the final tournament. In the following, places one to six are played out.
