ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier 2015

The ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier 2015 was the qualifying tournament for the ICC World Twenty20 2016 and took place between July 6th and 26th, 2015 in Ireland and Scotland . In addition to the six associate and affiliate members of the ICC, the best sections of the last qualifying tournament and the hosts, another seven teams qualified via regional pre-qualifications.

The top six teams in the tournament will take part in the group stage of the 2016 Twenty20 World Cup in India . Ireland and Scotland qualify directly in the group stage . Afghanistan , Hong Kong , Oman and the Netherlands then qualified . The tournament victory was shared between Scotland and the Netherlands after a non-existent final.

format

The fourteen teams were divided into two groups of seven teams each. In these, each team plays against each other. The first two in the group qualify directly for the semi-finals and thus for the final tournament. The group runners-up and thirds play in the quarter-finals for the semi-finals and qualification for the final tournament. The losing teams compete against the fourth in the group in the semi-finals of the lower qualification path. Its winners contest the game for 5th place and also qualify for the final tournament. In the following, places one to six are played out.
