The IFA Hotel and Touristik AG is a tourism company , which in the management and marketing of resort hotels it operates. In its 2015 annual report, the company had a share capital of 51.48 million euros and had an annual average of around 2000 employees. The company headquarters is in Duisburg . The majority of the company's shares are owned by the Lopesán Group, based in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria ( Spain ).

history

IFA Hotel & Touristik was founded in 1982 as a marketer for Spanish hotels and apartment complexes. In 1984 the company entered the Austrian market with the purchase of the Alpenhotel Wildental and the leasing of a holiday hotel in Hirschegg. The years up to 1995 were characterized by increased involvement in Germany. In addition to the takeover of several hotels, the clinic activities began during this period. The company went public in July 1995 . The first shares were issued at a price of DM 30 in regulated trading on the Frankfurt am Main and Düsseldorf stock exchanges. In 1999 the Spanish Lopesán Group acquired the majority of the shares with 50.1% of the shares. The group structure and the IFA brand were retained. Before and after the IPO, IFA was briefly represented with locations in Italy , Turkey and Eastern Europe.

In 2016 IFA took over 50% of the shares in the Anfi Group , which operates the tourist resorts “Anfi del Mar” and “Anfi Tauro” on Gran Canaria in the timeshare model .

Shareholder structure

The shares of the IFA are listed on the Frankfurt, Dusseldorf, Berlin , Stuttgart and Munich recorded, including the electronic trading system Quotrix . At the end of the 2015 financial year, around 86% of the subscribed capital was attributable to major shareholders who are located outside Germany.

In 2015, IFA operated 16 hotels and apartment houses with quality levels 3 to 4.5 stars through its group companies  . The locations are in Spain, Germany, Austria and the Dominican Republic . The Group also maintains a sanatorium and a hospital on the Baltic Sea .
