Iain Levison (* 1963 in Aberdeen ) is an American writer of German descent.

Life

Iain Levison was born in Scotland to German parents and came to the USA in 1974, where he grew up and still lives and works today. After graduating he found no work and earned his living with odd jobs . In more than 40 activities in ten years, such as as a shrimp fisherman in Alaska , as a driver, as a cook and as a restaurant manager, he made a wide variety of experiences, which he later processed in his novels.

In his manifesto on work ethic, A Working Stiff's Manifesto - A Memoir of Thirty Jobs , published in America, as well as in his later novels, he deals intensively with the exploitation of workers.

The detective novel published in 2005 made its German debut and was canceled due to operational reasons and was also a success in the USA, Italy and France.

As the translation rights (in Germany Matthes & Seitz , in the Netherlands De Geus, in Italy Feltrinelli , in England and America Bitter Lemon Press ) show, his works are appreciated and audiences all over the world.

Iain Levison lives in Raleigh , North Carolina.
