Ianca is a city in Brăila County in Romania .
location
Ianca is in the northeast of the Wallachian Plain . The district capital of Brăila is located about 40 km northeast.
history
Ianca was first mentioned in 1834 and declared a city in 1989. The most important industries are agriculture, the food and oil industries.
population
At the 2002 census there were 11,383 people in Ianca, including 11,262 Romanians and 116 Roma . About 6700 lived in the city proper, the rest in the six incorporated villages.

The important Buzău – Galați railway runs through the city . At the station Ianca satellite including high-speed trains, at bus stop Ianca (district Gara Ianca ) only local trains.
