Ibrahima Koné (born June 16, 1999 ) is a Malian football player on the position of a striker . Since February 2018, the offensive player has been under contract with the Norwegian first division club FK Haugesund .

Club career

Ibrahima Koné was born on June 16, 1999 in Mali and played for the Cercle Olympique de Bamako , CO de Bamako for short, when he was young . Nothing is known about the exact dates of Koné's deployment in the men's team of the capital club. After playing in the Malian junior national teams as a teenager, representatives of the Norwegian first division club FK Haugesund became aware of the young attacking player, who was already a Malian U-20 team player at the time . He trained for much of the 2017 game year with the Norwegians , who worked for a long time to poach the striker from his home club. In February 2018 Koné was brought from the Malian capital Bamako to the southwest of Norway, where he signed a contract with the club from the port city of Haugesund that runs until the end of 2021.

Equipped with a contract for the following four seasons, Koné started the championship in the first game of the season on March 11, 2018. In the 2-1 away win over Odds BK , he was used by coach Eirik Horneland from the start and replaced at half-time by the Danish Frederik Gytkjær . After that he was only rarely taken into account by Horneland until around the beginning of July 2018, sat most of the time unused on the substitute bench and, when he was in action, was only on the lawn for a few minutes of play. From the 16th championship round, a 4-2 home win over Sandefjord Fotball , the Malian came back to regular appearances as a center forward. During his subsequent outing, he helped his team to a 2-1 away win against Tromsø IL when he scored the opening goal in the fifth minute of the game after Grindheim was presented. By the end of the 2018 Elite Series , Koné was used in every subsequent championship game, but was rarely able to prove his offensive strength as a center forward. In addition to one goal, he only made two assists in 22 league appearances and otherwise remained goalless. In the final standings he was fourth in the table with FK Haugesund, which meant an international starting position (participation in the 1st qualifying round of the 2019/20 UEFA Europa League ). The Malian played five games in the Norwegian Football Cup 2018 , scored one goal in the second round match against Lysekloster IL and was eliminated with the team in the quarter-finals against Strømsgodset .

The attacking player started the game year 2019 somewhat cautious again , in which he has not yet been able to prove himself as a regular (as of June 20, 2019). From the bench to date (as of June 20, 2019) he has only made four championship appearances and a match practice of a little over half an hour. So far, he has only made short appearances in the Norwegian Football Cup 2019 .

National team career

Even during his time at CO de Bamako, Koné was part of the junior national teams of the Malian Football Association . With the U-20 national team of Mali , he took part in the U-20 African Cup of Nations 2017 in Zambia . He was in all three games in his home country and retired with the team as the last in Group A early from the tournament. After not being part of the Malian squad at the 2019 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations in the Republic of Niger in February 2019, he did represent his home country at the 2019 U-20 World Cup in Poland , for which Mali was named three months later now Africa champion had qualified. In the first group game against his peers from Panama , he was a center-forward from the second group game as a regular on the Malians' offensive. After a second place in Group E, Mali moved into the final round and won in the round of 16 against the favored Argentines before he was over in the subsequent quarter-finals against Italy . In four tournament appearances, Koné came up with a record of one hit and one assist.
