Ida Beer-Walbrunn

Ida Beer-Walbrunn (born May 1, 1878 in Lübeck , † October 22, 1951 in Munich ) was a German painter .

Life

Ida Beer-Walbrunn, b. Görtz, attended Ludwig Schmid-Reutte's drawing class at the Munich School of Artists . With Wilhelm Trübner , who taught at the Städelschen Kunstinistut and in his private student studio in Frankfurt am Main , she received her further training and specialized in Impressionist landscapes with pastose paint application. Wilhelm Trübner painted her as a rider (Ida Görtz on horseback) , a picture that is now in the National Gallery in Berlin .

She traveled from Frankfurt to Paris , where she presumably studied at the Académie Julian . Even after their wedding in 1904, she took part in exhibitions at the Munich Secession , such as the spring exhibition in 1905 and exhibitions of the Weimar Artists' Association in 1906.

Fritz von Ostini attested to being a personality “who appears very resolute, applies her brushstrokes broadly and firmly and in places, especially in the still life, develops an incredible power of color. In the Kleinhesseloher See there is greatness of view and a pleasant connection of color ”.

In addition to her painting activity, she also wrote articles for art and artists . She married the composer Anton Beer-Walbrunn in Lübeck in 1904 . They lived in Munich on Ainmillerstr. 13.
