The song, written and produced by Phil Collins, was released in May 1981 and enjoyed success in the UK and Ireland. It appeared on the Face Value album .
In the chorus, Collins sings in falsetto .
This was the first Collins song that Eric Clapton played on, as well as later on I Wish It Would Rain Down .
On an episode of Classic Albums , Collins said he would never sing this song again after the No Jacket Required tour because the audience screamed instead of sitting still during the performance.
