One more night

One More Night is a pop song and the first single from Phil Collins 'third album No Jacket Required from 1985. One More Night was Phil Collins' second number one hit in the US , after Against All Odds (Take a Look at Me Now) a year earlier and became Collins' fourth top ten single in the UK at number four .

Story and music video

Collins was playing around with his drum machine as he figured out the chorus for the song. He later said in an interview : "The rest of the song was finished quickly written and produced ." The music video shows Collins at the piano playing in a bar, the music video was in. Richard Branson - Pub in London (as already the video for Sussudio turned) . The B-side featured I Like the Way in the UK and The Man with the Horn in the US .

reception

Robert Hilburn of the Los Angeles Times praised Collins One More Night but later said, "Collins soul singing style doesn't match One More Night ." Isaac Guzman of the New York Daily News said the song was too "snuggly."

Keegan Hamilton of the Riverfront Times wrote that the song was the worst on the album and that " One More Night Taints the Album." "This song doesn't fit Collins," added Keegan.

The Dancehall Artists Busy Signal took a cover version of the song in reggae on style.
