I Don't Care Anymore is a Phil Collins and Hugh Padgham song performed and produced by Collins. The title was first found on the 1982 album Hello, I Must Be Going! released.
The single, decoupled from Atlantic Records, was released worldwide in February 1983, reached number 39 on the Billboard Hot 100 Charts in the United States and stayed in the charts for eleven weeks. On the B-side is the piece The West Side .

The mood of the 5:03 minute track is relatively dark and, with the drum-dominated instrumentation, is based on tracks like In the Air Tonight or Do You Know, Do You Care? . Rolling Stone rated the track as the highlight of the album due to a drum solo :
"Collins followed up with Hello, I Must Be Going! [...] which is highlighted by a tumbling drum solo on I Don't Care Anymore "
Allmusic praised the title as one of the greatest songs ever written and reviewed:
" I Don't Care Anymore is one of the most bitter, spiteful lost-love songs ever put to disc, the antithesis of Collins' later cuddly image. It's downright unpleasant to listen to. Unless, of course, you're in the middle of a really nasty breakup, at which time it's probably just the greatest song ever written. "
The song was used in the soundtrack of the episode Blind Fury of the television series Miami Vice . On the initiative of the German managing director of the WEA Records label , Bernd Dopp, Kelis processed the title for a tribute album . The Focus judged: “Only New Yorker Kelis belts out an angry snot hymn with“ I Don't Care Anymore ”. The rest is a pleasant ringing sound. "
Music video
Stuart Orme directed the music video. In addition to Collins, the musicians Daryl Stuermer (guitar), Peter Robinson (keyboards) and Mo Foster (bass) can be seen. In the video, Collins sings, accompanied by the musicians illuminated by the spots in an otherwise darkened room.
