Ignaz Blasius brother (born January 31, 1780 in Zell am Harmersbach , † March 13, 1845 in Waldkirch Black Forest ) was a German organ builder .

Life

Ignaz Bruder attended the public school in Zell, learned the mason trade and left Zell as a traveling journeyman around 1797/1798. He came to Nancy and Mirecourt , where he got to know the building of barrel organs and music boxes and learned this craftsmanship. When he returned home with the great book by Dom Bédos in his luggage , he settled down as a music box maker in Simonswald in the Black Forest in 1804 and continued to develop his manual skills on an autodidactic basis . He was also involved in building church organs . He worked as a temporary worker, later also a journeyman with Mathias Martin in Waldkirch and in 1806 he established his own organ manufacture in Waldkirch. In 1807 he married the shoemaker's daughter Maria Anna Siffert. This marriage had 15 children, three daughters and twelve sons. Only five of the sons reached adulthood, but all learned the craft of music maker. Ignaz Blasius Bruder thus founded a dynasty of music makers that lasted into the 20th century.
