Igor Mikhailovich Pavlov

Igor Mikhailovich Pavlov ( Russian Игорь Михайлович Павлов ; born June 10 . Jul / 23. June  1900 greg. In Sulin -Werk in the Don Cossacks - Oblast ; † 19th October 1985 in Moscow ) was a Russian Metallurg , metallurgist and university teachers .

Life

Pavlov, son of the metallurgist Mikhail Alexandrowitsch Pavlov , studied at the Petrograd Polytechnic Institute with a degree in 1923. He then worked in various iron and steel works (until 1933). In addition, he taught from 1926 at the now Leningrad Polytechnic Institute with appointment as professor in 1939. His work provided significant contributions to the cast - process technology and the theory of transformation of metals and specifically of rolling .

From 1943 Pavlov taught at the Moscow Steel Institute (MISiS) . In 1946 he became a Corresponding Member of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (AN-SSSR) . In 1953 he took over the management of the department for plastic deformation of metals in the Moscow Baikow Institute for Metallurgy of the AN-SSSR . There he made other important contributions to the theory of forming.

Pavlov was buried in Moscow's Vvedenskoye Cemetery.
