Igor Mitreski [ igɔr mitreski ] ( Macedonian Игор Митрески ; born February 19, 1979 in Struga ) is a former Macedonian football player .

Career

Mitreski started playing football at the capital club Makedonija Skopje . Between 1997 and 2000 he changed clubs annually within Macedonia before playing in Russia for Spartak Moscow for five years . With Spartak he became Russian champions in 2001 and won the trophy in 2003 . The central defender came to the Bundesliga promoted Energie Cottbus in 2006 via Metalurh Zaporischschja in Ukraine and the Israeli club Beitar Jerusalem . At the beginning of November 2008 Mitreski was initially suspended indefinitely after public criticism of the Cottbus club officials, but was allowed to train with the team again a short time later. In January 2009 it was awarded to Germinal Beerschot Antwerp . But the Belgian first division team did not take the purchase option, so Mitreski returned to Lausitz for FC Energie Cottbus, which has meanwhile been relegated to the 2nd Bundesliga. Under Claus-Dieter Wollitz he returned to the regular formation, but moved to Bulgaria to ZSKA Sofia during the winter break of 2009/10 . He has been under contract with Neftchi Baku since summer 2010 , where he ended his career in 2014.
