Igor Wiktorowitsch Vjasmikin ( Russian Игорь Викторович Вязьмикин ; born January 8, 1966 in Moscow , Russian SFSR ; † October 30, 2009 there ) was a Russian ice hockey player .

Career

During his Soviet period he played for HK CSKA Moscow and Chimik Voskressensk . At the NHL Entry Draft in 1987 he was selected in the 12th round in 252nd position by the Edmonton Oilers . 1991 Wjasmikin moved to the Oilers in the National Hockey League , where he could not assert himself. Other stations in his career were clubs in Denmark, Italy and Finland. In 1997 he returned to Russia, where the striker ended his active career in 1999.

Vjasmikin has been appointed to the Soviet U20 national ice hockey team several times . So he took part in the Junior Ice Hockey World Championship in 1984 and the Junior Ice Hockey World Championship in 1986 , where he and his team each won a gold medal.

Wjasmikin died in October 2009 at the age of 43 after a long illness.
