Il religioso convegno is the title of an apostolic letter from Pope John XXIII. , it was published on September 29, 1961 and is also known under the heading "Marialis Rosarii". The Pope dealt with the prayer of the rosary "for peace among men".

- This Apostolic Letter pays tribute to the previous encyclicals on the Rosary ( Supremi apostolatus officio , Superiore anno , Octobri mense , Magnae Dei matris , Laetitiae sanctae , Iucunda semper expectatione , Fidentem piumque animum , Augustissimae virginis mariae malis , Diuturni recordis , and Gravesi recordis ) again that in October special care should be taken to pray the rosary. Like his predecessors, he explicitly mentions Pope Leo XIII here. This is how he describes the glorious connection between the rosary and Mary, the Mother of God, as the mediator to God .

The political events of 1961 (hotspot in Laos , Cuban invasion of the Bay of Pigs , construction of the Berlin Wall and terror in Algeria and Tunisia ) prompted the Pope to plead for peace among the people in this letter.

John XXIII highlights three important characteristics of the rosary, these are: the truth in faith , the spirit of Christ and benevolence among men. He describes the rosary prayer as the call to universal peace, justice and brotherhood are the cornerstones of peace among men.
