Illegal 2001 is a German rock band whose members come from the Schleswig-Holstein cities of Bad Bramstedt , Eckernförde , Neumünster , Kiel and Tappendorf . Her best-known songs include A7 (I walk through every desert) , Never Again Alcohol , Canned Beer and We Like To Drink .

history

The band was founded in Schleswig-Holstein in 1988. In 1992 she released her debut album Scandal in self-distribution. Shortly afterwards she got a recording deal. The group quickly became known nationwide and in the same year received the Echo Prize of the German Phono Academy as the best young band. The band was nominated for "R.SH-Gold" by Radio Schleswig-Holstein and received the coveted trophy in the gala of the same name.

Several tours through Germany and open air festivals followed (including in Lüneburg 1995 together with Status Quo , Elton John , Jule Neigel , Joe Cocker , Eros Ramazzotti , Rod Stewart , Wolfgang Niedecken and others). In the mid-1990s, Illegal went on tour in Germany in 2001 as the opening act for Pur .

In 1997, Illegal was featured on the soundtrack of the Peter Timm film "Dumm ran" in 2001 with the title song . Four years later, the band took part in the national preliminary round for the Eurovision Song Contest and came in 5th.

After many years without a new album and only occasional concerts, a club tour and other concerts took place since summer 2007.

On August 28, 2010 the band headlined the "Jübek Open Air Revival Party" . Between 1991 and 1995 she had already performed frequently at the Jübek Open Air Festival , initially as a regional newcomer, and most recently as one of the main acts.
