Illmersdorf is a district of the municipality of Ihlow in the south of the Teltow-Fläming district in Brandenburg . The place belongs to the Dahme / Mark office and was an independent municipality until December 31, 2001.

location

The district is north of the community center. To the northeast is the further district of Rietdorf . This is followed in a clockwise direction by the town of Dahme / Mark , the Ihlower district Niendorf , the community center and the district Hohenseefeld of the Niederer Fläming community . To the north is the Illmersdorfer Holz forest area and to the southwest the Niendorfer Holz forest area , which is part of the Bärwalde area.

History and etymology

The place was first mentioned in 1346 as Elmerßstorff , but it was probably settled much earlier: a late Romanesque stone church was built in the middle of the 13th century . In 1388 the place appeared as Eylmerstorff . The name could be derived from a person named Eilmer or Elmar. The square village was shaped by agriculture for many centuries. Numerous four-sided courtyards that still exist in the 21st century are evidence of this, some of which are listed. In 1928 a fire station was built. In 2009 the community renovated a half-mile column that stands on the village green.

Culture and sights

• The village church Illmersdorf was built in the middle of the 13th century and was renewed in the late Gothic period . In the interior there is a wooden pulpit altar from the second half of the 17th century.
• On the village green there are numerous stable buildings with upper arbor under monument protection
• Memorial stone in memory of May 8, 1945; the inscription tablet was stolen

There is an agricultural cooperative, a meat wholesaler, a heating and plumbing company, a car repair shop and a restaurant in the village.

The federal highway 102 leads in the southern part of the district coming from the northwest in a southeast direction through the place. This is also where the majority of the residential development is located, which is accessed via the Illmersdorf street that branches off from it to the north . There is also a bus stop for bus lines 754 and 774, with which a connection to Jüterbog and Dahme / Mark is established.
