Ilze Hattingh (born April 22, 1996 in Durban ) is a South African tennis player .

Career

Hattingh started playing tennis at the age of seven and prefers hard courts. She mainly plays on the ITF Women's World Tennis Tour , where she has so far won one title in singles and ten in doubles.

At the Australian Open 2013 she competed both in singles and with Madrie Le Roux in doubles , but where she was eliminated in both competitions in the first round.

At the Australian Open 2014 she reached the round of 16 in the junior singles with wins over Nina Stojanović and Yukina Saigō , where she was eliminated 4-6 and 4-6 against Anastassija Komardina . In the junior doubles she lost in the first round on the side of Simran Kaur Sethi in the first round.

In 2015 she received a wildcard to qualify for the Grand Prix SAR La Princesse Lalla Meryem , her first tournament on the WTA Tour . But she failed in her first match against Renata Voráčová with 1: 6 and 1: 6. In the main field of the doubles in the same place, she also received a wildcard together with the Moroccan local hero Gita Benhadi . But they lost their first round debut against the Ukrainian doubles Olha Savtschuk and Elina Switolina with 1: 6 and 0: 6.

In 2012 , Hattingh made her debut in the South African Fed Cup team , where she was also used in 2015 , 2016 and 2017 and has four wins in 14 games.

Hattingh played her last professional tournament in September 2017 and has not been in the world rankings since November 2017.

She has been a college player for Arizona State University since 2017 .
