action

Käseburg in 1988. The popular show master Willi Wunder and his team stayed for a live show in the Hotel “Himmel”. His biggest fan is Mimi Schrillmann, who dreams of being his assistant. Her mother Erika, a former figure skater who now ekes out her existence as a toilet woman , wants to turn Mimi into an ice princess instead.

After the fatal fall of Wunder's assistant Beate from the roof of the hotel “Himmel”, caused by manager Raffo, a feverish search for a replacement is made. Mimi's neighbor Frau Sommer wants her daughter Elke to get her way and eliminates all possible competitors. When Elke is absent after an accident, she gives herself a place on the show - if only as a candidate for a quiz game.

Mimi's chances seem to be zero, because she has an additional handicap: Since Willi Wunder beheaded his sister with scissors as a baby, he has been traumatized in relation to girls with “thick braids”. And Mimi has blonde braids, but can ultimately cure her Willi and in the end is actually on stage with him.

Reviews

“Together with Markus Klug, who also wrote the music, the director put together a hair-raising kitsch story, which he intoned so shrill and hearty, so fluffy and full of zest for life that if you like such blooming nonsense, you will have a lot of joy. "

- Heiko R. Blum , Rheinische Post

"Thought as a satire on future television, consumer behavior and bourgeois ideas, simple-minded ditties and foolishness are only reminiscent of German hit films of the 50s."
