Location and description

The place is about 2.1 kilometers as the crow flies from Bergneustadt, between the coarse direction Olpe east and Gummersbach west. Approx. 330 m above sea level, this place is integrated as a narrow natural valley with a width of approx. 1.5 km surrounded in the spruce forest with the Othebach in a small natural paradise.

The local residents, who previously lived exclusively from agriculture as cattle ranching and partly worked in the textile companies located in Bergneustadt, are now employed in the Bergneustadt area for European companies.

Traditionally, the Immicker village song is sung on festive occasions . The native song was composed by Liesel Blatt. The year of creation is not known. The song is sung at village festivals and the so-called wreaths . The melody of the song is based on " Auf de Schwäbsche Eisebahne ".

Wreath

At weddings, silver or gold weddings, the front door of the bride and groom is adorned with a surrounding wreath of spruce branches ( wedding custom ).
