During a performance in Saint Petersburg , Christofer Johnsson from Therion became aware of Imperial Age. Impressed by the band's live performance, he offered them to release their future albums through his music label and to support Therion on a European tour.

On January 1, 2016, the band released an EP called Warrior Race . The work contained three new songs, five newly recorded songs from the first album and a cover version of the Therion song To Mega Therion , which Johnsson was enthusiastic about. Alexandra Sidorova appeared as the new singer on Warrior Race .

In January and February 2016, a 21-concert European tour followed through 13 countries as a support act for Therion. Following the tour, Alexandra Sidorova left the band for personal reasons and was replaced by the soprano Anna "KiaRa" Moiseeva.

Another tour through 11 European countries followed in November 2016, this time as the opening act for Orphaned Land . At the end of the tour, the band played two headlining concerts in Manchester and Zaragoza .

The second album The Legacy of Atlantis was released on February 1st, 2018. Jane Odintsova did without the keyboard and concentrated on the vocals; the role of Cardinal Gregory took over Thomas Vikström (Therion). Nalle Pahlsson and Christian Vidal (Therion) as well as the Chamber Choir of the Moscow Conservatory were also involved in the recordings . The mastering was done by Sergei Lazar from the band Arkona.

After new band members were found with Pavel Maryashin (guitar), Dmitry "Belf" Safronov (bass) and Max Talion (drums), the band embarked on their most extensive tour of more than 50 concerts through Europe from January to April 2018. again with Therion. At the gig, the band also played two unreleased songs.

style

The music of Imperial Age can be assigned to symphonic metal, but also contains elements of speed and power metal . The band thinks “the lyrics are just as important as the music. It's not about modern empires, instead it's about the great civilizations that preceded the one we now live in. "
