Inés Remersaro

Inés Remersaro Coronel (born December 2, 1992 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan swimmer .

life and career

The 1.65 meter tall athlete, whose father Jorge Remersaro works as a water polo coach, is studying finance in the United States at Oklahoma Baptiste University in Oklahoma City and is a member of the university sports club there. She began her sporting career at Club Biguá de Villa Biarritz . She has been trained by Ibrahim Zaldivar since 2012 .

At the Junior South American Championships in Venezuela in 2007 , she won the title over 200-meter back and took silver in the 100-meter back distance. Remersaro participated in the 2007 Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro , the 2010 South American Games in Medellín and the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara . Among other things, she competed in the South American Swimming Championships held in Belém in March 2012 and achieved a time of 31.85 seconds over the 50-meter back course.

Remersaro was part of the Uruguayan squad for the 2012 Summer Olympics . In London she started on the 100-meter back course. She finished 43rd out of 45 participants with a time of 1: 08.03 minutes and was only able to leave Armenian Anahit Barseghjan and Monegasque Angélique Trinquier behind. For the Olympic Games, she had qualified based on the women's quota- based selection by the Uruguayan Swimming Association .

She took part with the Uruguayan team in the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto. There she finished 16th on the 100-meter and 200-meter backs and came 21st on the 100-meter freestyle distance.

Records

Remersaro holds the Uruguayan national records for 100-meter freestyle (0: 59.57), set on June 4, 2011 in Cali , and 200-meter back (2: 21.07), set on July 28, 2011 in Shanghai . With Scanavino , A. Guerra and V. Sanchez , she set the valid Uruguayan record in Mar del Plata on March 27, 2009 in the 4 × 100-meter medley relay (4: 34.80) and at the same place for two days later in the same composition to those in the 4 × 100 meter freestyle relay (4: 04.77).
