In My Head is an R&B or pop-rock song by the US singer Jason Derulo , who wrote it together with Moe Faisal, Claude Kelly and JR Rotem . The song was released on December 8, 2009 as the second download single from his debut album Jason Derülo . It became a number one hit in Australia and the UK and a top ten hit in the US and Germany and many more countries around the world.
Derulo sang the song live on American Idol's ninth season .

The song is influenced by electronic music and has a more rocking sound than Whatcha Say ; it is a Lady Gaga influenced song that is similar to Just Dance . Derulo stated that In My Head should show fans the more electronic side of the album.
Remix version
The American rapper Nicki Minaj sings and raps in the official remix version , for which she herself did additional songwriting and remix production . The remix version by Nicki Minaj was released on March 11, 2010.
Music video
The music video was shot in late 2009 and released on YouTube on January 23, 2010 . It starts in a parking lot, where Derulo is dancing in front of several black cars. He himself wears black clothes and blue jeans; the headlights illuminate him. Later his friends and a dancer join them. In the video, Derulo communicates with the dancer. At the end of the video, Derulo escapes with her.
Commercial win
My Head debuted at number 63 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the week ending December 26, 2009 . After several weeks, it became Derulo's third top 10 success in the USA with fifth place. On March 13, 2010, the single reached number two on the Canadian Hot 100 and became Derulo's second top 3 single in Canada. In Australia, the single debuted at number one on the Australian charts. It also made its debut in the UK at number one on the UK charts, making the song Derulo's second top 3 hit and his first number one hit. In Germany, In My Head started at number nine in the single charts . On June 22, 2010, the single was awarded double platinum in the United States .
